CodeWarrior Pro 6, released in 2000, was the last CodeWarrior release to support targeting 68k Macs. Although MacSSH uses CodeWarrior Pro 8, it's possible to use the Pro 6 68k tools with Pro 8.

Copy the following files from your CodeWarrior Pro 6 installation to the corresponding folder in your Pro 8 installation. All paths are relative to the Metrowerks CodeWarrior X.0:Metrowerks CodeWarrior directory.

  • In the CodeWarrior Plugins:Compilers directory, copy MW C/C++ 68K, Lib Import 68K, MPW Import 68K, and PEF Import 68K
  • In the CodeWarrior Plugins:Debuggers directory, copy Disassemble68K (I think CWPro 8 already comes with Disassemble68K)
  • In the CodeWarrior Plugins:Linkers directory, copy MacOS 68K Linker
  • In the CodeWarrior Plugins:Preference Panels directory, copy 68K CodeGen, 68K Disassembler, 68K Global Optimizer, 68K Linker, 68K Project, CFM68K
  • Make a copy of the Pro 6 MSL directory, rename it to MSL-CWPro6, and move it to the Pro 8 directory.
  • In the MacOS Support:Libraries directory, copy MacOS 68K
  • In the MacOS Support:Libraries:Runtime directory, copy Runtime 68K
  • In the MacOS Support directory, copy OpenTransport
