I hope to update this and clean it up but I thought I should get it up here as I found nothing about this plug before I forget to post and I can't remember any details.

Note: I have a newer version of this, labelled C7 HYS-X5-SOCKET_V1.2. The connectors for the ESP-01 board seem different. Still mapping them, but beware of following these instructions unless you know you have the same version.

Note: I have a newer version of this, labelled C7 HYS-X5-SOCKET_V1.2. The connectors for the ESP8266 board seem different. Still mapping them, but beware of following these instructions unless you know you have the same version. Update: looks like I actually destroyed the ESP8266 board somehow, using the software-only [tuya-convert](https://github.com/ct-Open-Source/tuya-convert) technique. I opened up the case by putting it between two dowels in my vise, and tightening until it cracked open. There was zero resistance between pins 13 and 14. I fed it power at 3.3 volts to 1 amp, before giving up. An identical second plug updated without incident.
